“Urban Context” is a key inspiration in design of HAS Design and Research

New generation architect Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee shared :

Architecture is an interface between space and human aiming its dwellers to be comfortable, for well-being, and sustainable, as well as for the locations of such buildings.

This definition can be perceived through the published article in a world renowned MoMA : Museum of Modern Aluminum, revitalizing and regenerating values for old buildings by combining façade and lighting on the existing structures, giving a new life to Ratchapruek area. During daytime, the movement of aluminum façade is animated by natural wind, which make it look like reed grass flowers. At night, its lighting dots mimics lights of fireflies. This is the way to incorporate “nature” into design that reflect a traditional way of happy life for locals. This is also a new guideline and a standard for well-being designed to correspond with the local community context. HAS aims to incorporate every design to enable city to achieve well-being together, not only for well-being of all dwellers, but also prides, as well as good vibes for visitors and passersby.

Benchakitti Rain Forest is another design work presenting the idea of well-being through the design that welcomes urbanites at rainforest park, a new green park of Bangkok, in WOW (Wonder of Well-Being City Festival 2022) by The Associations of Siamese Architects along with government agencies and private enterprises that value sustainability as they created a space to share ideas and concepts of urban development, life quality development, and ways of life. This means to promote sustainability in various dimensions. HAS Design and Research determines to make architecture as a part of urban scene with a strong focus on ‘being comfortable’ of users. It wishes to rekindle the attempt to bring back nature as a part of building and spatial design through conceptual design and material selection to feel more natural, despite at times, without trees. Benchakitti Rainforest Observatory was inspired by its location, the cliff viewpoint, situating at the heart of forest park surrounded by massive buildings. This created a stern contrast between a city, or concrete structure, and nature. The differences are harmonized by SEE Jorakay quality which could absorb CO2 at the same level with a big tree. This is the source of a creative work installed on the cliff observatory featuring motif painted by SEE Jorakay natural paint in green leaf hue all over concrete structure It represents “trees” of Rain Forest. It makes a great stop or rest area of visitors with low environmental impact building materials, while it also creates art installation resemble to paintbrush stroke as a centrepiece for visitors to enjoy. At night, it also works with illumination system designed by Light Is, which make this virtual tree seemingly floating in the middle of the pond with a clear green hue of the panels.

HAS Design and Research – Well-being design is a design based on people’s feeling, that is, the design must create a sense of comfort, mental and physical, along with pride and new values for building users and passersby. By making people feeling better somewhat helps create well-being already.
